Let's pay tribute to the people who put an end to the 2nd world war and the victims, now that we still have a chance to meet them.
Challenge title: open for discussion
Challenge topic/description:
Take a portrait of soldiers who fought in the 2nd world war or the victims of the 2nd world war. You are required to tell their story in your photo description. If you are unable to take a portrait, try to photograph a memorial (but do your utmost best to find someone who is still alive). The victims are not limited to allied countries, all victims of the war can be your subject.
You can think of the men who landed on the Normandy beaches, the men who fought on the pacific islands, the victims of the concentration camps, civilians who were hit by bombardements. Nurses, supporting troops, members of the resistance, etc.
The challenge submission deadline could be either the day the war ended in Europe or ended in the Pacific.
In my opinion it should start as soon as possible (to get a couple of months to enter your phot), because the aim here is not to win ribbons, but to remember the end of the war and the people who were involved. Photographers need the time to find the people and to
record their stories.
