Ok on monday i ordered my eos 20D from www.royalcamera.com
i ordered one of the packages that came with 2 lenses, the first being a 24-70 f/2.8L, and the second being a 70-200 f2.8L.
so i was curious and did some thinking before i spent a whopping 3 grand on a camera. I called the company and asked if the lenses that came with that package Canon L series lenses and they said yes. so i was convinced enough that i spent $3000 on it. so today my package arrives in the mail and i litterally waited a good 3 hours on my porch when i got home from school, waiting for it, when it finally came, i put the box on the couch and opened the box. I was looking forward to seeing a big white lens and a big "L" on the box. but to my dislike i see a black and red box that says "sigma" on the side. I was furious, i called the company and accused them of lying to me and baiting and switching (which my friends is illegal in the US). So the guy says to me "well what we can do is you send back the lenses and we will send you canon lenses for $400 more. its a scheme my friends, a scheme that people like that shouldnt get away with. I was considering threating him with getting an attorney to get him to stand behind what another employee of the store said. Well, im sending the lenses back tomorrow and getting my new ones the day after.... Any thoughts on the subject? similar experiences?
oh one more thing
DO NOT BUY FROM ROYAL CAMERA!!!!!! they are cruel people that cheat the people put of thier hard earned money. |

Sorry to hear about that, did you read reviews for royal camera.com before purchasing from them? Theyre notoriously bad.

Out of curiosity, what was your problem with Ritz? When the D70 came out, B&H didn't have it in stock for weeks. I finally bought it from Ritz and it arrived at my house in about 2 days which I thought was pretty impressive.
I doubt I'll shop there again as I like B&H but I'm curious to hear what they did. |

Yeah, why not Ritz? I like B&H but have considered Ritz due to their warranty. Though, we have not researched them completely yet.

I'll have to agree that I have had good luck with Ritz. Bought a number of things including my D-70 through Ritz.com. I do order from B&H also. Depree should have taken the bag to a local Ritz store. I'm sure they would have helped him. I have been told by my local store thy WILL take back items purchased online. Although I have never had to test this.

That is what the local store folk tell me as well. But I think he tried that and had probelms. He's a good guy with bad luck.
