Can anyone help me out? I am trying to resize a photo of me for my profile. I succeeded in getting the photo to 120 by 90,,but the ratio was all off and the photo was completely demented. How to do it properly? Signed, Complete Newbie. Thanks!

Well, this is what I do... The aspect ratio you want is 1.33333 (with lots of 3s). If your photo doesn't already have that ratio, you'll have to crop it before you resize it. When you make a selection in iview, it shows where your selection began, as x and y co-ordinates, and the width and height of the selection in the title bar of the window.

Choose a selection that looks roughly the way you want it, and make a note of either the width or the height (whichever one you think is most important to keep the way it is in the selection). Then grab a calculator (just the one that comes default in Windows will do). If you noted down the width, divide that number by 1.333333, and round the result to the closest integer. That will be the height of your crop. If you noted the height, multiply by 1.333333 to get the width.

Then make a new selection and use the numbers in the title bar to get exactly the width and height you calculated, then go "Edit -> Crop" or hit ctrl+y. After that, you should be able to resample to 120x90 and it will have the right aspect ratio without being stretched weirdly.
