Every time there is a new challenge I take a look to see what threads are up and runnning to get some ideas, clues, hints, tips etc.
But when I look under the "current challenge" forum, there are always lots of threads all over the place making it "difficult" to locate the current one.
How about if there was a "current challenge" folder within the "current challenge" folder that pertained to each challenge?
I know I'm not very good at explaining myself.....

Let's try again:

What about if each current challenge had it's own folder in the "current challenge" forum and in that folder where all the threads pertaining to that particular challenge.
It would be a lot more concise and easier to find/follow.
I know some threads may contain references to more than one challenge, but they could easily be copied into both folders, couldn't they?

If someone else understands what I am trying to say and want to explain in proper/better English, then feel free.

Thanks for being so understanding.

Which is why the SC try to lock duplicate threads and keep all the info in one thread. It just doesnt always work out that way.

This seems like a good idea to me...

Or if folders is too much of a pain (which it probably would be) how about some kind of tag for threads on basis of challenge name - when you create a new thread in that forum you are asked to input the name of the challenge it pertains to (with an automated drop down of current challenges to choose from).

Then some way of searching by that tag too...

I dunno... just typing as I think!

Or just two subfolders under the main folder:

Active
Archive

And then perhaps SC could simply drag threads for challenges that have closed (and are also off the results page) into the Archive Folder when appropriate?

Probably less work than the recoding needed to create new folders for every challenge and less messy too?

Currently, in the SC forum, a new thread is automatically generated at the start of each challenge for discussion pertaining to that challenge. In the general forums, I'd like to see two folders automatically generated for each challenge - one when the challenge is announced for discussion about topics, etc., and one when the challenge starts so that everyone can post their scores (and then I'd like for it to be an option to automatically ignore all those score threads because I don't give two hoots, but that's a whole 'nother discussion).

I must admit that I would also love a way to automatically set threads that are nothing but score dumps to ignore.

And I'd love to know whether anyone honestly really reads through everyone else's score dumps or just feels a need to share their score somewhere regardless of other people's interest or lack of interest in it.

I dunno...

;o)

Some are content to only hear about the finish, some want the excitement of constant updates on how they are doing -- but others want the adrenaline rush of watching the race as it unfolds.

Constant/frequent exposure to epinephrine (Adrenalin -- no "e" -- is originally a brand name) is pretty much considered a long-term health risk (hypertension, stroke, heart disease, kidney disease, etc.).

I recommend indulging somewhat less frequently, say twice a week : )

I think automatically generating the threads for each challenge could help reduce the duplication; we might have to stop people from starting new threads in some of the categories.
