The best advice I ever heard concerning tattoos was from a good friend (who happens to be a tattoo artist), he said to find/create a design that you are 100% happy with and study it every day for 30 days, if during that time you remain 100% happy on each day then go ahead and have it done, if on one day during the 30 day period you have doubts or change any of the details then restart the 30 days.

If you can't be honestly 100% happy with it for just 30 days then leave it a while.

Scuds, are you sure that you haven't decided on what the tattoo should look like OR are you sure you really want a tattoo??? It seems to me that you may just be procrastinating about getting one. No worries tho cuz with a major painstaking removal getting the tattoo is like eating cake, very easy. Getting it removed hurts like hell. Instead of getting a name maybe a piture or clipart that say "you" or something you believe in.

Like I said, meant nothing when I got it...now I tell my wife that she is my 'sunshine' and I'm the moon-face.

For each child we have, I'll have a tiny star tattooed in the open area in the middle.

I haven't, no worries man!

Here is where if starts differing. It already has a meaning to me. Damn, my mother calls me scuds!

But I will never ever regret getting it.

I don't think I'll regret as well, cz the only time I'll be able to actually see it is when I look back on my shoulder and face a mirror! As the years go by, as my life go, I'll be able to LOOK BACK in time and see something from my youth. Remember why was I called this way, moments! My friends, my mom calling me like that when she was really pissed at me.
Everything ages. Just like an old photograph. But be sure that I'll take a digital one and burn it into a CD so it'll never lose quality! LoL

Hey! I'm in my mid-50s and I have two tattoos that I had done around age 45. I have a Wurlitzer jukebox on my back by a shoulderblade and two hot cayenne peppers on my right thigh. I don't regret having them done at all!!! But that's not really what I wanted to tell you. I know a Jewish woman probably close to 80 and back in 1969 she had the word Kosher tattooed on her buttocks in Hebrew. It is such a crack-up (unintended pun) and she will show people if they ask. I want to grow up to be just like her!!!! Here I am on the downside of middle-age and I will never tell my mom though, because she'd disown me. Don't any of you tell her either LOL!

Well, it seems I killed off another thread, but before I go, I wanted to add one more thing. I may get one more tattoo in the way distant future. Because I want to donate my used decrepit body to science (actually I work out vigourously), I thought it might be nice to get one more tattoo somewhere on my front side saying "this side up." Might as well liven up things for the med students!
