I've already got an sb-600... but I'd like to purchase another one.
I was wondering if anyone suggests the sb-800, and why? |

SB-600 can only listen. It cannot act as the commander. Of course your camera can be set as the commander, but that means it cannot fire the built-in flash. SB-800 has a higher GN (125 @ ISO 100, I think). It can control multiple SB-800s or 600s.

It seems to me that if you already have the SB600 and you want another speed light then it should be the SB800 as said above it will act as the commander for up to 3 extra units SB600 or SB800. The SB600 cannot act as a commander unit it can only recieve.

SB800 is more powerful too. It's nice to have just in case you need a little more light.
