I guess it is considered rude at the "other site" to solicit critiques, so I wonder aloud if I am being annoying by asking others to look at my photos there... If I am let me know - I haven't gotten around to making a shnazzy signature.
In any event, there is one picture I feel is good that needs tweaking, and I would love some comments on it. Thanks, Mark Little Pumpkins |

You're certainly not annoying me ;) I like the photo, especially the perspective, but it is a tad dark for me - I would like to see a little more light on the pumpkins. But hey, I'm no expert, just giving you an opinion !

An interesting shot, but definitely too dark. Nothing that a quick tweak in PS couldn't fix though. |

LOL! I, too, read that soliciting comments was a faux pas "over there" - which I don't understand, because it's a site about getting comments. Ah well. I think we are used to the commaraderie here. This is more like home. I'll leave you a comment there, though! ;-)

Just curious if anyone has any comments on THIS.
Thanks.

Sir, please take this as well intended as I am attempting to make this.
In a way, I do find these requests self important. What I mean is, the #1 desire stated by most photographers here is to improve their photography skills from comments made in the challenge. At times, like most people, I can be either extremely busy or extremely not. When time affords, I do enjoy seeing pictures not related to the challenge. On the other foot, I can't help but feel for those photographers that submit photos to the challenge, only to receive a few comments on how to improve their work (the original intent of this site). I post my best work someplace else. The commenting can be sparce and less than helpful, but that is the stated intention of that site, to post and comment work irregardless of any contest. (They do hold contests, but this one is more than enough for me.) Isn't this the purpose of PhotoSig?
The long and short of it, I don't really care either way. But, if you ever complain about not getting comments on your challenge photo, you might want to wear asbestos. Wink and a smile! |
