I took My new D70 out to the Houston Livestock Stock Show yesterday and took about 150 shots. I posted some of them here.

Feel free to have a look and let me know what you think. I am particularly fond of pic #49. I left it on auto white balance and all of the shots look a little warm. Have other D70 owners found this to be the case?

Very nice pictures! I'm really impressed how nice they all look, I don't think they look too warm at all. In fact, I like them better than a lot of the pictures from Nikon cameras as I think many Nikon pictures are too cool.

Have you edited them at all? If they are straight out of the camera, they are very impressive indeed. The camera seems to have handled every sort of lighting exceptionally well!

I did no editing at all. I shot JPEG fine and used the D70 kit lens. For the indoor shots I either used the on camera flash or turned up the ISO.

Your new D70 really takes a nice shot. Makes me wish I could afford one along with my Rebel! It seems like the pictures from my Rebel always need some editing to look ready to print.

You must be a pretty good photographer, as well;to get such nice shots right out of the camera. I'd love to try a D70 and see how it compares to my Rebel.

Will be watching to see how you do with your new camera in the challenges!

Thanks for the compliments but the competition is pretty stiff here. It takes an exceptional photo to ribbon here and some people have many ribbons. They are very talented. I considered the Rebel also but the Nikon just felt better in my hands and people have said very good things about the kit lens that comes with it. I didn't have any lenses so I was starting fresh. The Rebel XT looks like a good buy but I'm loving my Nikon right now.
