I have just noticed some thing pecculiar, On my white entry I was credited with 344 votes accorrding to my record I had 368 just prior to voting ending? how come.

The vote scrubber probably threw some out. The people who don't vote 20% or whose voting patterns are especially suspicious have their votes removed.

At the end of voting, there's a system that cleans out all the troll votes, eg people who just voted 1's or 2's for 80%+ of the images. This is probably why your vote count went down.

24 votes were removed for various reasons. Perhaps they didn't vote on 20% of the images, or perhaps they were caught for dumb voting patterns.

It's the same reason that your score suddenly changes at the end of the challenge.

Good lord!!! You keep records of the number of people who vote on your photos.... now that's dedication.

I would be guessing that the Council made some adjustments for those individuals who do "trolling" votes, .... but that is pure speculation on my part.

Hmmm, if I'd finished reading all the posts, I'd have had my explanation!!!

:)

Sounds logical to me.

Thanks people I had a feeling this was he case with the trolling etc, I normally only check in 2 or 3 times a day and jot down the figures simply to see how things are going for me. I must say my cobbled together late entry for surrealism is doing ok for me

SC members have no access to any voting records. Any vote deletion is done automatically via an algorithm run on the results, the structure and criteria of which are known only to the admins, not SC members.

Thank you for that information General... although that was mere speculation on my part, I now know the process and won't be making the same mistake again...

Sometimes people change their votes around..

For example I might have voted yours a 5 initially, then changed it to a 6 later on.. I guess you count my vote twice then?

Generally that seems to be the case. With 4 hours voting to go, my score was at 4.86. After the close it had reached 5.05, with 23 less votes showing. That would mean the average score for those votes was approximately 2.

This pattern is fairly normal for open challenges. It doesn't seem to be so bad in members' challenges. I guess the people who pay to enter aren't going to waste their time with troll voting.

No, they replace your previous vote with your new one.
