This black smudge is on all my recent photos!
I've had my camera for 3 months, and think it might have always been present. But, I have only noticed it recently taking shots at f 8.0 in brighter conditions. I have cleaned everything (external)! Is it dust on/or a fault with the CCD?? |

I have the same problem with my Fuji s7000.. only it's a green smudge in the lower left.
Something tells me that a bunch of s7000's shipped with faulty sensors.
If the camera is still under warranty, I'd suggest sending it in. I was going to send mine in, but it just doesn't show up on enough pictures, and is easily clone-outable (the odd challenge that I can't use cloning on, I just make sure to shoot something that hides the blemish, now that I know it's there).
Glad to know I'm not the only person that's seen this.
*EDIT* Just to say that when I said "Doesn't show up on enough pictures", I meant that it's not *visible* on them.. because of picture elements hiding it.. but the smudge *is* always there.

Appears to be a bird flying towards a large black wiggly circle.

Could be unexplained phenomenon.
Check out this thread for answers.

Sorry just had to put that in there.
I would check with Fuji. Maybe Glen is right.

Looks like dirt on your sensor to me. It's visible in that shot, but may not be real bad in most conditions. Considering what type of shot you like to do, how bad does it bother you? If it bothers you enough that you are willing to go without your camera for 2-3 weeks, then, by all means, do as Artyste says and send it in to Fuji.

I had something similar (still have) on the upper right edge of my 4900z. I assumed it was some foreign object on the sensor, and was ready to upgrade to 5Mp anyways, so haven't done anything about it. I use the 4900z in my e-bay setup, and it isn't a problem for me.

I took my Camera back to the shop I bought it from, JESSOPS, and, despite it being 3 months old they replaced it for me there and then! Thanks a lot JESSOPS! |
