They probably are because you usually have one shot? I like the challenge of taking them. On this contest I wanted to enter a different photo than I did but I thought I would get negative remarks. Those usually don't bother me but this was a borderline image in today's politically correct environment. I tried to crop it out but it just made my image something else that I did not like. I won't say what that was because it might influence this week's voting. If by chance it is brought up I will mention it? There were some pretty good pictures for this week's contest and this image is not as good as some of the best for this week. I would like to share one of my candid pictures I took a few weeks ago that I took a liking too. It is a picture of a woman bicyclist taking a break. fog cometh

Wow, that is really nice. I love the relaxing atmosphere the fog and running water create. Looks like a nice resting spot.

Nice shot. I disagree with the critique on PhotoSig about the saturation. You have excellent saturation in the lower portion of the photo. The upper half is foggy. That's the point. Further saturating would IMO ruin the effect and oversaturate the lower portion.

I agree with the comment about the beam, but really, what can you do about it: nothing. Nice capture.

The title is excellent. I have such problems choosing a good title. This one sums up the photo and adds a bit of poetry.

This photo would have scored well for me this week. I would have liked it if the focus were a tad more sharp on the woman, but very well done, besides.

Thanks for the comments. That day I got some excellent photographs on the Monterey side early that morning and afternoon for there was no fog. At the time I took that picture of the woman bicyclist. I was a little disappointed from the fog. I saw her when I got out of my car but I went to the golf course across the road to take pictures of the golfers teeing to the green across water. When I came back I took, no don't tell anyone, a snapshot, (you never heard them words from me), I should have taken her picture after I got out and took my time but I was a little perturb. This image reminds me of that day. You got to take it in stride and take pictures of other things, I went black and white a lot for the blending in with the fog. I had to shoot close in color. It was the first time I had been to Pebble Beach and I wanted to get a clear shot of the famous lone tree. I didn't bring my tripod but I set my camera on a fence to get the best shot possible with the fog of the lone tree. I had been to Monterey, Pacific Grove, and Carmel a lot for I once used to make deliveries there every week. I love that area there but it is for the rich, they have some nice big homes there.
