So I went to B&H today and sold some old equiptment, which gave me money to get a kick-@$$ tripod by Manfrotto/Bogen.
I was playing with it getting a worm-eye view of ordinary objects in my room, and was left with this conclusion:
I need new shoes - these are scuffed up. LOL.

To me, the shoes don't look so scuffed up that you need new ones, course, I'm guy =).

Problem...
the center column of the tripod is removable. I'd removed it to take the picture above, and when I was putting it back in, the mettle piece that pulls back to loosen and tighten the column popped out, spring and all. I managed to get it back in there, but I trust it shouldn't do that...

Your talking about a circular band? Or does it have a little quarter circular piece that tightens with a knob? Happens. Just be careful when you re-insert the column.
Bogen makes great tripods. Looks like you have a well matched set. I haven't been able to find a Bogen to meet my needs. Bogen owns Gitzo. I have 2 Gitzo tripods that have no Bogen counterparts or I would have considered Bogen when I purchased them.

Yes, I'm talking about a circular band. I'll be careful...I'll just have to be weary when I do outdoor night shots so I don't loose a piece if it pops out on me...
Good luck in finding what you need. I'm very proud of my first bogen. :)
