I'm a lefty. Would like to try a left handed camera if they ever made one. My mouse has to be on the right though. I tried it on he left and it just felt too weird.

I'm left handed. I'd go crazy with a shutter release on the left side though.

I'm not that kind of leftie : )
But I've practiced doing a lot of stuff with my left hand since I was a kid; I can use chopsticks and play table tennis left-handed, and I played one season of softball left-handed after a thumb injury. |

What we really need is a way for people to "tally" this. Where's that DPC poll feature when you need it!

I think we can set up a user poll for this ... how about:
Are you ...
( ) Left-handed
( ) Right-handed
( ) Ambidextrous |

Or, for some more fun, to get a little correlation with DPC Ribbon winning:
Are you ...
( ) Left-handed, no DPC ribbons
( ) Right-handed, no DPC ribbons
( ) Ambidextrous, no DPC ribbons
( ) Left-handed, DPC ribbon(s)
( ) Right-handed, DPC ribbon(s)
( ) Ambidextrous, DPC ribbon(s)

I write left-handed, but do everything else with the right. But if I go to draw, especially on an easel or something upright, I want to use my right. I mouse with my right, and do PS that way, but have to use my left for a while because of tennis elbow (but totally unable to PS with it). There are two kinds of lefties: those who "hook" their hand as they write, and those (like me) who turn the page nearly upside-down and write towards the body. Brain research is showing that the two types have very different brain chemistries. So that leaves me as a totally messed up weirdo I guess!

There's got to be more than two types as I do neither when writing, hook or turn paper nearly upside down.

Actually - you're right. I used to work in Psych at a teaching hospital and they did a lot of the brain research we use today. There were several classes of "lefties" but I thought better not to get too technical!!

"Writing posture" is usually limited to describing those who write with the wrist "above" the line of print, usually referred to as "hooked" posture and practiced by many lefties (but not all), and those who use the traditional hand-below-the-line style usually practiced by righties (but again, not all). Here's a site turned up in a quick google search.
Kylie, your posture sounds VERY hooked if you turn the paper upside down. I'd like to see it!

left-handed for everything but capable of doing everything other than writing with my right hand.
no ribbons yet lol, actually pretty low scores, but i was thinking out the box? lefthandedness? lol.
I do have some weird thoughts and my mate thinks i'm insane, maybe that's got nothing to do with being left-handed though, i could just be completely nuts. |

I visited that interesting site and learned lots.
Anyone else write backwards, easily, left handed? I do. Hard to read though without the mirror. |

i can easily write backwards. i always wondered about that! The funny thing is with myself and hubby being both lefties, both of the kids who are right handed had trouble writing at school Their writing is quite illegible. The teachers finally pinpointed that because Rob and I are lefties we couldnt teach them to hold the pencil properly. Aha! Made total sense to me. :O) |
