Try moving your image to another computer and see whether it will upload from there.
If you can, go back to your edited image and re-save the final JPEG to make sure there's no data corruption -- try opening it on another machine.
If nothing works, contact the admins ("Contact" Link under 'Help" menu). I think the technique of last resort is to email it to them as an attachment, but check with them directly before you do that. |

I have the same trouble. I have to e-mail my pics to a friend to upload. |

Why don't you try the most common solution to these things...delete your DPC cookie files and restart (or preferably do a complete shut-down, power-off any peripherals, and power everything up again). In my experience this solves somewhere between 65-95% of computer problems. I usually restart 2-3 times before giving up and troubleshooting the rest of the system.

Hey Marbo.. I get the same thing. It's really odd. Which ISP are you using? We're both in the same area, so it might be caused by one of their filters.

Same here.. very interesting. I thought it was something to do with my router. I can upload fine at school, which I thought was really odd as well. What OS are you running? (Perhaps it has something to do with that as well) |

I did wonder if it was NTL. I will have to phone them. |

1) I think you used an illegal filter to achieve that effect. DQ immediately!
2) try using your browser to open the file directly from your local disk, to make sure the browser is not misinterpreting data the editing program sees as correct.
3) Get a Mac
4) Do you have connection options? If you use DSL, maybe try connecting with a dialup.
5) If you have firewall or virus scan software running, turn it off temporarily.
6) Email the file to admins with explanation, and list all hardware/software involved in the workflow...
7) Get a Mac |

Thats a good idea generalE. If i get no joy from NTL i will set up a dial up account. I just hope it doesn`t mess up my broadband settings.
Thank you.. |

When you upload at school is it through a browser?

Yeah, It's through the same browser that I'm not able to at home.
I probably should clarify. When I use my laptop here at home, I cannot upload - I get the symptoms exhibited in marbo's picture. When I use it at school I have no problems. This is why I think it's an NTL problem rather than a site or computer problem. All other methods of uploading work perfectly fine (ftp, e-mail, scp, etc...)
It would be really nice to have an alternate method of uploading, maybe through e-mail if possible?
Just a thought.

Hey Matt,
If your router has a port for a "DMZ host" try hooking up your laptop to this port. That should circumvent the firewall functions of the router, and help you determine whether that's the issue.
BTW, is NTL a cable or ADSL provider? |
|
|

NTL is a cable and telephone provider.
The other thing that bothers me is that this is a fairly new problem. When I first got the cable modem in here it was working fine. It's only been since early februrary that I've had this problem, and my router configuration hasn't changed during that time. But hooking straight up to the cable set-top box will help elminiate that possibility, which I'll do just to be on the safe side.
Thanks for the suggestion!

I did some checking at ntlhellworld.com.
This is what I found. Seems like it's an NTL problem and there is a workaround listed there. Couldn't decipher the instructions well enough to fix the problem. I'll try again when it's not 3am ;).

Thanks Marbo!
