I was sitting at my laptop, going through the pile of Light on White pictures for voting and thinking to myself, "Dang, there's a lot of overexposure going on here! What is with these people not reading the part about being careful not to overexpose highlights?" Then I shifted to wake my foot back up, which fell asleep as I had been sitting on it, and saw the photograph that was open on my screen at the moment undergo a miraculous change for the better.

What I'm I saying, in essence? If you're working with a screen that changes appearence depending on what angle your at, tilt the screen up and down, shift your body from side, or whatever may change the angle a bit whenever you come across a picture that just seems too blown out, strangly colored, dark, etc. It makes a world of difference, gives the photograph the justice it desrves, and only takes a second or two per picture (and if you cant spend that much time examining and considering each photo, you're going too fast!).

I'd sure be happier knowing that others do this if my picture looks 'off' to them, versus simply writing it off as bad--wouldn't you like yours to have that consideration as well?

Just a reminder that LCD screens do strange things. Remember that it may be the computer and the angle, not the picture, and it's unfair to mark down the picture for such.
