| I think it would be cool to have a section in there where people could enter major accessories like lenses, flashes, tripod etc. It could even be linked on a submission profile like how you can select which camera you used, so that people would know (after the voting) the common question "what lens did you use?" |

| Lenses in particular are important. Flashes and tripods not so much, but the lens is really the only thing that makes the cameras of all the people here with DSLR's different. |

I think that has been suggested a million times before...I care more about the lens than anything, to be honest (even more than the camera)...Just keep a blank section for lens, filters, other...
I agree with this suggestion.

As pointed out, this has been suggested many, many times.
I think the reasoning behind it not being implemented is that.. if people are too lazy to put that kind of information in the comments field when they submit a shot, or upload it to their portfolio, as many, many people are.. what would make them add it to a specific section?
Heck, looking through a lot of photos, people can't even be bothered to put in what kind of aperature, ISO, and shutter speed settings they've used.. and the N/A is showing up on *FAR* too many challenge entries these days.. It's rather disheartening.
So.. I think that unless we see a determined effort by the populace to start putting this information in regularly, I doubt we'll ever see add-ons to it.

I believe the lens section is currently being implemented.

The word from behind the scenes is that this is already being worked upon, and should appear at some point in the future - I can't promise a specific timeframe, of course...

I do hope all my obscure M42, T-Mount and Adaptall-2 lenses will appear in the list :P
God I'm gonna give somebody such a headache when this appears.

Don't need a list. That would be hard to keep up. Just a space to put in the lenses you own or used in a challenge. I'm all for it.

Last I heard was "the database is being populated" which would point to something similar to the camera selection. It wouldn't be that hard to keep up anyway, how often do new lenses come out?
