I sent 10 test images to Alamy several weeks ago. All ten were approved today. I just got finished key wording them a few minutes ago. Pretty painless.

Congratulations! I'm planning on sending them a CD soon as well, so please keep us posted on how your shots do. Do you have a link yet for your photos there?

Congratulations! I'm just curious - what type of camera did you use for the photos you submitted? Was it a digital? I had checked them out a while ago but dropped it when I saw how large of an image they require. If you don't mind sharing, I would like to know if you used film, or did some kind of interpolating from a digital image?

thanks, bj

Does alamy have a problem with resampling raw photos then converting them to tiff if the quality is barely lost?

Im thinking about dropping Istock and Shutterstock for this company.

I think that is how you are supposed to do it. I shoot beverything in RAW.

I used a 1Ds to take the images I sent in for the test. I have a large number of images on slides that need to be scanned, but that will take time. On the samples I just resized bicubic in one shot. I may have to do it in two steps with the scanned images.

No. Go to the FAQs page of the website.

I would be exclusive with the individual images I sent in though.

Here's the link:

Stock photography by M. A. Battilana at Alamy

These were just the test entries I sent in. I will be sending another 100 in the next week and hopefully have a thousand posted by June.

This company was well researched. A very succesful company who takes good care of their photographers. The pay is better then the industry standard and images sent in are uploaded quickly. Anyone who would like to try I wish you luck. Ask if you need any help.
