I just noticed at work while updating the votes on my two entries in Billboards and Passing Time that my screens brightness on my home computer was too dark and some MAJOR, major light editing flaws showed up. Sad...sad...sad.
I feel like I owe an apology for showing such tacky work. Oddly though these shots printed out ok. Whassssup wit dat?
Now I'm calling into question my entire calibration.
Advice, links, tips...silly remarks...anything will be welcome, even if only in terms of comfort.
Thanx for your patience.

Is your monitor at work ok? How does most of the others look on it?

I'm pretty sure someone posted this once.calibration
My monitor at home was a lot darker than the one at work and a bunch or people comented on my self-portrait about a lot of variation in the blacks.....

YIKES!!!
Yes, that's exactly the sum of it. Blacks and greys scooped and blotched out. What a horrow show! I've been looking at pictures at work and home and now that I think of it, things look better at work but I rarely do any editing to my shots, since they never met such scrutiny(color balance, levels etc.)until this moment where I did touch ups.
If I up the pixel rate, the print and icons shrink on my display and I don't want that. |

I'm gettin a bad taste of that in double-dose.
Usually I can blame "society"...or "the system" and occasionally the Middle East but this one lands squarely on my shoulders.
Very uncool!

I'm a pretty standard guy when it comes to submissions within the challenge and have not (to my knowledge) ever been voted down for not meeting the challenge, my scores are all down to me and lack of ability, maybe when I a better fotog I'll digress a little and then be voted down for not meeting the challenge lol.
