A friend helped me out today and came by with a wild animal game caller. He put the the injured rabbit tape in and this fellow came trotting up about three minutes later. I just did a quick PP. Any editing suggestions before I submit them to some POTD sites?

A quick PP?

Fantastic shots! How close was he? Looks awfully close in these shots. They are all great but I really love the close up crop of the second one. Nice work.

Yes, quick PP?

The second one is the ticket. Beautiful shots

Either of the 1st two. What strikes me is how "sharp" these are. Congrats on some GREAT photos!!

The first one. Definately the first one is absolutely an amazing shot!
You just have to make it printable!

1st one works best for me.
AMAZING light and clarity and his eyes are just amazing.

Thanks all. I updated the photo information. All the shots were at about 30 meters while resting the lens on the top of the car door.

Aperture = 6.3
ISO = 400
Shutter = 1/2000

Thanks for the excellent comments! Are there any suggestions to improve them?

Bruce, I've left a comment on your photo(the 2nd) one. I wouldn't adjust anything on it in fact all of them a great and don't need any major editing work. Could look great in B/W as well !

Love these shots, perhaps cloning out the twigs over his rump?

Wonderful shots of the ole coyote. If ya do the calling enough, you can get bobcats, fox, hawks, eagles, skunks, and other critters. I used to do it years ago with a friend. We get Mountain Lions here, so we have to be careful. Cabela's has a tape of woodpeckers squeeling which is great for shrikes, hawks, and owls. I use a tape recorder of territorial birds in summer, you can get them, especially the nice males, up real close. I never call for more than five minutes, not to disturb nesting activities.

nice shots I am tempted to try your techniques...
however,
makes me think of when I was in kenya on safari and the things that some of the photofraphers wanted to do to get the shot. When it comes to wildlife I think we need to be respectful and careful not to disrupt them any more than they already are. We build our houses on their land and then shoot them (with guns) for being there. We are destroying their habitat at record speed. Others still destroy them for profit. And while I am certainly glad you shot him with a camera and not a gun,
I think it is important to think about what are we willing to do or not do to get a shot.
Photographic ethics so to speak.

Thanks. My buddy was telling me about the woodpecker tape and I thought he was kidding, but I guess not. Out here where I work we have Red Tails, Northern Harriers, Kestrels, and what I think might be a medium size falcon. Calebas has one of the call boxes which uses cards instead tape, so I think I'm going to postpone the next lens and invest $150.
