Here are a couple of recent shots of bottles of wine I took, doctored up in photoshop, what do you think?

i think the 2nd one would have been a great billboard entry, sans text ;-)

I like them...
however the first one seems to be a bit off, and it's hard to describe, but the foreground seems to be added to the background... which may be the case... it's just a bit obvious and takes away from what both images could be...

I really like the second photo, except the bottle closest to the left edge seems to be hiding, yet there was plenty of space open. Either crop the are on the left, or open this bottle up to the subject are...

Thanks for the comments guys, maybe I should have entered the second one, sans text, oh well, there is still a day left to come up with something new....

The tops of the bottles need more breathing room. The specular highlights on both shots are distracting, especially the one you starbursted. The first shot is an awkward angle on the bottle, looking down on it. It needs to be shot more straight on. The lighting overall is harsh where we'd expect the subject to use somethign softer and gentler. A light tent would be a good place to start.

Sorry if I sound negative, but I used to do product shots all the time. In your favor, they are crisp and sharp.

Robert, this is the type of constructive critism that I am looking for, if I am ever to improve, I need this kind of help, thanks much! Great advice.

Robert,
You may sound harsh at times, but you may be just what some of us here need, I give you a lot of credit, you are a great (profound!) influence here. One of the best... If I finally convince my husband to get his feet off the ground in this field, I hope you'll be there to help/judge/guide him... I swear he only needs a slight push....
