I was out shooting with a hassy 501 today and i havent used it much before. It's for a class im taking, i dont own one. I was just intrigued by the sound of the shutter because it sounded like it was a on a 'bulb' setting but I had it set on 1/250 or 1/125 most of the time. Is there some button on the lens I may have inadvertantly pressed causing it to go to bulb setting? I didnt think about this till after I was done shooting...I'm taking the film in monday so I guess I'll see if its all totally overexposed...
But has this happened to anyone before or is that just how the hasselblad's shutter works? I'll find out monday but if anyone can lend a hint sooner that would be nice. thanks |

The sound your hearing is actually the rear aux shutter blinds opening up and closing. The actual shutter on the lens is pretty quiet and opens and closes to whatever you dialed in of the lens.
When you hit the shutter release, the blinds open up and then the lens shutter opens then closes and when you release the button the blinds close back down.
Try taking the film back off and fire off a few frames to see how it works. |

shooting with that thing is a lot of fun and so different, i cant wait to make my own prints off of them. |
