I don't know much about Fuji cameras, but I do know a lot about Canon's cameras. Popular, and highly praised.

You can't go wrong with a Fuji, and the manual & priority modes will come in very handy once you get used to it. Looks like a good buy.

If you are pleased with the camera and the results you get from it then it was a good choice. Nothing else matters.

I think it's a good choice. I recalled scanning a review of the E-550 last Fall, and it was well thought of. I think opting for the 5Mpx instead of 6 was a smart move.
