I've seen a lot of posts recently regarding DQs that were a result of people not interpreting the rules in the widely expected manner. Each of these threads suggested a change in the rules, but as observed by some members (and I agree) it is hard to spell out everything in the rules.
My suggestion would be to create a place in the DPC Community area where people would post their DQd photos with SC reasons. No rant, just pure image with an explanation of why.
The posting in such forum would be strictly voluntary, and members would be urged to post controversial DQs (whenever a member thinks SC was wrong, basically)

The intent would be to have such controversial photos available for others to peruse before submitting potentially rules-offending images. Or, members could read the forum out of interest, just as they would read the "How'd they do that?" forum. This would be in addition to, not in place of, requests for validation.

There would be no automatic posts to this forum based on the disqualification, and there would be no ranting here. If someone wants to vent out their anger, they could also post their photo in other forums, as it happens today.

Thoughts?

What we will be doing (soon) is posting the DQ'd photos at the very end of each set of challenge results, so people will be able to easily see which photos were DQ'd and why.

Those could then be "discussed" in the context of the rest of the challenge results.

GeneralE, A very good addition to the site. I believe that 99% of DQ'ed pictures was the result of the photographer going a step to far by MISTAKE, not on purpose and it will help others err on the side of caution. Great Job to the admins and SC for putting this in place -in the future.
