Hi,
I took this messing around with different backgrounds. It's two feathers on a bit of tinfoil, lightened a bit (in Corel PhotoPaint).
What do you think?

Very interesting. Too bad the wrinkles are there in the tin foil. I like the softness, but it may be a tad bit light. Definitely something you should continue to experiment with.

Ta! Yeah, maybe I should have squished the wrinkles flat. Doh!
After that shot, I also scrunched up the tinfoil and put a semi-see thru bag over it and took more. I got a very interesting effect: flat and shiny at the same time!

That would be a great shot for the Light On White challenge

Great shot, but how come you posted it to the forums? This would have been perfect for light on white!

I agree about the wrinkles, but they are hard to get rid of.
The alternate would be to have lots of wrinkles, and make them look very deliberate rather than an accident.
Nice shot regardless.

Ahhh! Really? I thought because it didn't have a white background that it would get marked down. Plus I've entered a totally different photo.
Dagnamit!!

You COULD always just take it again with those things to fix in mind... We didn't see nothin', did we?
Or you could just think of another idea... |

I tend to be more open than many about what meets the challenge, so you might be right.
Ah well, judging by the quality of this photo, I'm sure your entry is outstanding, too!

| This looks way too light on our monitor, and we've had quite a few comments that out pics are too dark. Maybe we need to calibrate our monitor. |

My entry isn't that great. Would it be bad form if I entered this, after it being on the forum?

There was some controversy about RulerZigzag's red ribbon winning bridges II entry, and the number of "1's" it received in voting. Some people believe he got those votes due to posting some outtakes in a forum, which were of the same bridge, but still different photos. I would suspect that it would be a bad idea to use this shot, too bad though.. You still took a great photo, and that's what matters most!

You're right. It's the taking part, and learning about photography that's important. I'll stick with my other entry and see how it goes.
This (light on white) challenge is my second.
I've already learned a lot from DPC and had great fun taking pics.
Cheers everyone for all the nice comments!
