I would like to know if you think the tilt in the below photo adds or detracts to the overall effect. Any other suggestions for improvements would also be appreciated.

Can't see it. Did you withdraw it?

Kykie,
I couldn't get the thumb to work in the post. The link should take you to photo.

The tilt seems arbitrary and pointless to me. I don't like it.

I think tilt works with this type of shot , but I think you have gone to far with this one and the photo seems to want to fall over
if you draw a diagonal line through the photo corners your shot would look better with the tilt reduced the same amount before the line as it is now after the line (the center of the door cutting the top and bottom edges of the photo not the sides)
I also think it would be better if you move away from a straight on level shot just tilted by shooting from lower or higher to give the shot some perspective

If you ever look at my Portfolio, it becomes painfully obvious that I love tilted perspectives! lol However, I agree that this one is taken a little too far to the right, where it is almost falling down on the horizontal plane. I think a different viewpoint entirely might add more of the interest you are seeking, but just an opinion.

I agree with what others have said. It is tilted a bit too far to the right; if you rotate it a bit to the left so that the major dividing line between the doors becomes a true diagonal (reaching both the top right and bottom left corners perfectly) this will have more visual appeal.

Why don't you try combining the tilt with a change in depth as well (don't take a picture parallel to the door, let the e.g. bottom left be closer and top right farther from the lens.)
And yes, change the aspect ratio to be closer to 3:4 (portrait orientation) and lean it back to the left.
It may be worth trying.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. They helped me look at this type of shot in a completly different way. I'm going to go an reshoot the image and see if I can improve it.

I like tilted photos, but felt I had to lean over a little to the right to get a good look at the door handles.
