I was jus wondering is there a such thing as gray market len's? if so what would be the disadvantage to buying one.... thanks

There is no warranty and they often will not even be serviced by a factory repair facility. Other then that, nothing.

I believe they sell them at B&H (www.bhphoto.com), and they even go to great lengths to explain the differences. At least through B&H, they seem like a viable option. |

Look on Ebay. If it is new and doesn't specically state USA Warranty it probably is gray market. Most retailers also offer gray market cameras and lenses as a less expensive alternative to their USA products. Go to B&H and look up a lens you may be interested in. If you see one that says imported it is gray market.

So there basically the same thing jus ones imported and ones not minus the warranty and all that good stuff thanks for the good info! ....
