i finally discovered how to use the macro setting on my camera (i always wondered wat that button was for...) and i was taking some pics of flowers. can you tell me wat u think of them?

Now that you've "discovered" it, here is little trick I just learned regarding it:
The manual for G2 indicates that at full optical zoom, the closest I can get is 8 inches, whereas without zoom it is 2.5 inches. At first I thought to myself: "How stupid. Why would you want to be farther away for a macro shot." It took me a while, but I finally realized that the shot actually is a much closer shot.
Try it yourself, set your camera to full optical zoom, take the recommended distance and then notice how much larger the photo is.

Hi Meggie. I like the pictures. I like the 3rd one the best because of the depth of field. :) Follow the suggestion Focus left for you in his post and try shooting something smaller and I think you'll like it.
I saw in your profile that your other obsession is field hockey. My profile pic is my other obsession too... ice hockey.
