Very dissappointed with this result,I could have shot this very old bridge and probably got a much higher placing but while I was taking pics this lady came along and started feeding the ducks and pigeons, so there you go, nobody got my connection so it flopped.
Pity, the large version is stunning.
There...thats enough moaning for now:)
I would welcome any comments,
Thanks,
Paul.

I did not get around to voting on your picture, time ran out with so many entries. I wish I would have because IMO this is a great example of 'bridge'. As stated it does not have to be a physical structure. And I believe yours have an emotional POV which in my opinion is the best work of art. With that said your picture is also technically sound. A little soft on the focus but to me adds to the emotion. Sorry I did not get a chance to vote, I would of given it a 8. Great Job for thinking outside the box and adding an element in the background for the one's that just did not get it. Keep up the good work. |

I agree that you had a decent photo of a bridge. However in this competition, unfortuately that was not the end-all...we were supposed to show a bridge, or the emotion of brigding between two beings, etc...
And the emotion, and the expression, and many other factors, came into play....
However, very nice photo, good job! liked it a lot!!!
For the URI students: We will perhaps have another photography competition in the next few weeks...

I liked your submission and originally gave you a 6. I wasnt too harsh on the non bridge photos. I was going to submit this photo here and at the last minute decided to go back and take a nightshot. I guess I made the right choice..Im still shocked. |

Even with your outtake being a great photo as well I still feel you made the right choice in submitting the night shot. |

"The challenge is to photograph a bridge. A bridge may provide you passage across a river or you may be bridging from one state of mind to another. A bridge is not always a physical structure. Let your imagination run freely as you choose a bridge to photograph."
Hi Deb,
If you read my resume on the picture you will get my intentions, most people didn't get it but the bridge is there,
Thanks,
Paul.
Scott, I am pleased that you picked up my intentions and thanks for the comments.
