On Saturday I have my first Photo shooting assignment for a shop here. They are doing a special promotion for pre and primary school kids to promote their stuff, & I am photographing about 150 kids. The shop has bought a HP photosmart 7760, where I can plug the memory card directly into the printer to print whilst continuing on the other card. I will be printing 10 x 15 prints for between 150 & 200 photos.
How many cartridges will I need? The Printer uses HP 57 & 58 Cartridges. Will 2 sets be enough? |

I don't know about the hP, but that size print on my large-format epson would produce about 15-18 per color cartridge and about 24-30 per B/W cartridge. Depends on the relative proportions of color to black, of course. If you have a monochromatic backdrop, it may deplete that color reservoir faster.
Different papers take more or less ink also.
HP website should have this information.

Oh thank goodness. I wondered what the heck was going on there LOL. I'd think 3 cartridges would be ample then.

That makes more sense. The 7760 max size is 8.5 x 11 inches. I have been using an HP DeskJet (photosmart) 1220C for several years. I routinely print 4 x 6 up to 13 x 19 inches and the cartridges seem to last forever. Like the 7760, the 1220C uses two separate cartridges. One tri-color and one black. Two sets of cartridges should do the job. |
