Don't trust that, just because you've done something so many times that it becomes routine, you can do it every time without error.

an hour or so ago i shot my 'emotion' entry and whipped it through PhotoShop, saved it, and uploaded it to the site --- i just logged back on to see the 1st voting

imagine my shock when i saw that my entry looked NOTHING like what i thought i'd saved --- a quick review of my pic after the PS session would have saved me some self-abuse (not that kind) - and i wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't make it til the end of the week

BE WARNED, PEOPLE !!! your laxity will be your undoing, as it was mine

That's too bad, spiderman. =:/
But it is true. Sometimes when I upload an image, it looks different in the web browser than it did in PS. Usually just darker, but as soon as I submit, I review it on the site, too...just to make sure.

When it is a lot darker you are probably working with a different color profile compared to your monitor. There was a time when I made the pic in PS, did a printscreen, moved it to Irfanview, saved it as a tiff, went back to ps for save for the web.... Matching the profiles was a lot easier. :)

Spiderman, what was different about it? My pics always look exactly the same on the website as they do in PSElements. Even if you do mean they are lighter/darker, wouldn't the image look the same when viewing it from the website (since you're still viewing the web picture from your monitor)?

i was diddling in one of the color channels, which display in grayscale while in edit mode --- i made the mistake of assuming what was on the screen when i hit SAVE was the actual picture that was being saved --- now i know that PS put all the channels back :(
