Taken from about 100 feet away
Just resized
Shadowhighlight 40%
Shadowhighlight 40% and BG painted blue
My photshop skills and not the greatest any suggestions to make this shot better?

I like the blue sky treatment but you are getting some artifacts from it, the halo round the bird. When you put the blue in did you do it with the full size photo? it is easier to avoid this kind of artifact when working with the full size photo.

You have to use filter extract then just erase around those pixels of the bird.

To eliminate the halo I would select the background using "Select Color". Then I would "Expand" the selection by 1 or 2 pixels. They will get rid of that halo. Of the three above I think I might like the white best.

Scott I did paint the BG after I resized it . Thanks for the tip.
