Says, it doesn't work with Fuji. I don't have any RAW editing programs, so I don't use it.

It's supposed to work with DNG files. I have a folder full of these but I can't open none of them with that RAW file converter. ;-(

I have to tell that i dont know the program you talk about... but i have read and research a lot and found that DXO is THE reference to check fot quality and lens problem...

BUT did you know that DXO make a program to FIX that problem.... i use it all the time and work great, almost as good as 10 years of photoshop experience (me)

And non that little program is working with RAW, not too soon... the best moeny i ever spend...

//www.dxo.com/en/photo/home/default.php

Most of the other raw workflow inclue Capture One... that i have try and compare both... maybe for a digital full frame back as the p25 capture one is better, for a 10d or similar... dxo is amazing...

More info on raw workflow here : //www.rawworkflow.com/

Real competence in photoshop never ever will be remplace by a software, but DXO is close to a photoshop guru in a box !..

hope it help, i work hard on this testing, and i am happy to share !

There's no notice in the trial version of Bibble either, but it does time out after a month.

From the first site:

RSE will be for a limited period of time available for free. The only thing you need to do is to register your application.

And that it is only available for Windows XP

And that it only runs on Intel processors!

Seems more like a beta test than a full release.

I gave 'RawShooter' a test spin, and for me, it is not as good as C1LE. The interface is in such small type that I had a very difficult time with it. Also, the exposure controls are very rudimentary in comparison to C1LE. There were some things I liked, like the rollover preview of certain actions, but overall, I found it lacking in the control that I have become accustomed to in C1LE. As a freebie it is OK, but that was about it for me.

I am having the same problem with dng files. It works great for raw files from the 20D but I would like to be able to use if with raw files from the F828. I can convert the raws from the F828 to dng files but then 'RawShooter' does not open the dng files, double :(

I gave this program a shot wondering if it would give me faster and maybe more results than CS and it seemed to work nicely BUT I have a problem and not sure if you or anyone can help.

I got the image looking like I wanted (very close to what my eyes actually saw when I took the picture) but when I hit convert and loaded it into Photoshop it looked TERRIBLE! All the colors were muted and my reds were all pink.

This happened no matter what color map I picked (I tried most of the sRGB's and even my camera's Olympus C5050z). Does anyone have any experience with this program that can maybe help?

Sorry I didn't post an example of the before and after image for you to see, I was just so depressed with the results I deleted them but could try again tonight and post them if wanted.

Thank you.

This software was released for free but apparently has a few limitations, like only working on Windows XP and not on AMD processors (screen turns black above 92% view). They seem to have more issues then they expected.

Have a look at their website on the support forum for the thread "known limitations".

But this version is for free and as far as I can see for unlimited use. They say they want to have a large install base and then charge for upgrades.

It certainly works very fast and, apart from their know limitations which I assume they will solve, is much better and faster then the Nikon software.

My minireview:

I think it works great. The noise reduction aspects are excellent, from what I can see thats better than Bibble.

The interface and workflow is great too. You rate images with a priority, or mark them for later deletion. That's something Bibble doesn't have.

I think the results are excellent, especially when noise reduction is needed. This is one area where I've been unhappy with my Camera (indoors ISO 400 and above), and workflow (I don't like using stand-alone neatimage, and using it from PS means editing every image in PS).

However: Unlike Bibble, it doesn't allow
- curves adjustments,
- cropping
- reduction

With these three facilities, I can produce web-ready or DPC ready images without ever opening photoshop. That's a great time savings.

has anyone ever tried PHASE ONE Captrue one software? I think it is terrific!

thead on LL incl. RSE/ACR/C1 comparison shots

p.s. bibble seems to suck with longish exposures.

Works just fine on AMD 64bit processor with WIN XP64, don't see any reason why it should not work on 32 bit AMD processors too, though I probably downloaded the version with the fix included.
