How about straightening the files from the Nikkor DX 10.5 fisheye with Nikon Capture?
What about DXO Raw conversion with distortion corrections?

So then is it legal to change vignetting, which clearly violates the rules for basic editing as it doesn't effect the whole image, only the corners?

I'm not sure about the vignetting but guroos/Mike said, "Using Exposure, shadows, contrast & saturation to the max". If they apply to the whole image it's legal, as far as I know.

Yes, but you apply the filter to the whole image. The algorithm decides to affect the edges more.

Likewise, the Neat Image filter affects different parts of the image differently.

I don't think in vignetting it applies to the whole image...just the corners -- the size that it applies to is affected by the strength you use.

What I'm saying is that you are not selectively applying it--the intelligence is in the filter, just like it is in NeatImage.

When you do a color shift desaturating the blue pixels, you are only affecting the blue pixels. But you are not doing it selectively.

I agree with you, but the way I see it is when you desaturate the blue pixels, the filter is running on every single pixel in the image and if it meets the certain criteria (being blue), the blue information is stripped from that pixel -- so technically speaking, it is applied to the whole image even though it only affects a certain number of pixels, whereas the vignetting correction is only selectively applied to the corners.

Setting the vignetting amount affects only the corners. Is that legal?

Good point, and i have used it a couple of times for non-challenge entries.
I`d also be interested what site council rule on this.
