I was shooting at the pool tonight and thought this was kinda cool...

That definitely is cool. The water has a metallic look as if it was part of a sculpture. Nice shot.

wow that is a really cool shot, I think it is even cooler that the arc of water is refected in the mirror or what ever that refective surface is.

Definitely a cool shot. And I would like to know the details whenever someone posts an image where you wonder how it came to be (shutter speed, aperture, ISO, maybe a little story).

I agree. I love the stop-action but I feel your choice of processing, or oversharpening, has taken away from the image rather than added to it, imho. Cool catch, nonetheless.

Actually, it's not really an over sharpening issue (at least, it's not a USM issue), but another filter instead.
When I first looked at the photo I was wanting to go with something a little more "artsy". Now, I *never* use any of the other filters in PhotoShop because I've never been happy with the results.
But I tried two filters on this one ... I used Poster Edges and Ink Outlines. When neither one of them "totally screwed up the picture", I decided to keep *both* of them and blend them with layers.
So the hard edges you see are from the Poster Edges and Ink Outlines filters.
I had done a tiny bit of sharpening before using either of these filters, but it really wasn't very apparent.

Neat photo...
My questio for the day though isn't so much about the photo, but how you managed to take an camera into a public(?) indoor pool without being arrested?

It was a private birthday party ... my daughter's 16th. :-)
