how do you adjust the color and brightness contrast settings in your Photoshop to help make sure that your printer output matches your screen output?

Currently I adjust my monitor, but I have heard some here mention that they make adjustments to their program.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Epson printers(others too i'm sure) have custom profiles that will automatically adjust how you want.

Its not a simple question. Color calibration is very difficult. Petersen's Photographic magazine for March 2005 (a red mcaw on the cover) has several good articles on color management. I would start there to scratch the surface.

Take a look at 'Understanding Printer Colour Management' on luminouslandscape.com.

The simple part is adding the profile...

Start Button > Printers and Faxes > Right Click on your printer and choose Properties

Click the Color Management Tab...

This is where you set your gloabal Color Profile used for most applications...I use Digital Image Pro for editing and can also set it for the tools > options menu there.

But you need a Profile...Default color profiles come with the printer and with your monitor (most of em), you can buy professional profiles on-line, or in my case I calibrate my monitor with a spyder and it produces a Printer profile at the same time and that is the one that I use making for a real close what I see on the display is what comes out of the printer.
