Europe: €899 body only
US: $899 body only
according to dpreview. The number one spot on my wish-list may have been taken.

Any idea if the BG-E1 battery grip for the 300D will fit on the XT or are they going to make us replace that too if we switch cameras?

It's apparently (from the PMA review) a smaller camera, so it's doubtful.

If you look at the photo, you can see the BG-E3 attached to the 350D, which is different from the BG-E2 of the 20D and the BG-E1 of the 300D. Looks like you'll be buying a new grip...

I didn't see any mention of a change to this. Does anyone know? |

"The three metering modes (evaluative, partial, and centre weighted average) are now manually selectable" |

actually, while i'm at it .... about that macro:
it better be much cheaper than the 100mm macro, otherwise why would anyone buy it. For less than $100.00 anyone can buy the 50mm 1.8 and an extension tube and ALMOST be better off than the 60mm 2.8 macro, no?
that being said, putting the extension tube on and off is a pain in the butt :( (that's not sarcasm, it really is annoying) |

Subject to correction, I think the 18-55 f 3.5-5.6 "kit" lens was the first EF-S. It was introduced at the same time as the 300D. A USM version is available in Japan and Europe but not in North America. And a Mark II version is coming out now with the 350D. Then came the 10-22 f 3.5-4.5 USM and the 17-85 f 4-5.6 IS USM at about the time the 20D was announced. And now the 60mm f 2.8 Macro USM.
The four EF-S lenses can be used only with the 300D, the 20D and the new 350D.

Another camera better than Nikon.. Good work Canon. :)
And for those that can't keep pace with Canon releasing cameras rapidly, 1) it doesn't affect YOUR camera, and 2) welcome to the digital revolution. |

15 years in IT means I'm a little tired of the digital revolution :)

I wish we could do polls in here. I'm curious how many 300D and D70(if any) owners will switch over to the 350XT...

Do we think the cabled remote would be the same as the 300d?
