What is a fair price for selling a one time use photo for business cards?
02/16/2005 01:08:49 AM · #2
I'm usually lousy at this kind of thing, but if they're only going to use it on business cards, and not their brochures, website, make it their logo, etc., etc., then probably something between $25-100 US seems reasonable to me. I think that's about what a Royalty-Managed stock site would charge, or what a subscription to a RF stock site or buying a stock CD would cost.

Is this for the "pastures" project? If so your shot must have been good to survive that de facto/impromptu "challenge." : )

I actually have a shot in that vein at Shutterstock! LOL

Yes, it is for the pastures thing. They want to use it on the back of the business card. Who got picked for the front?

Sign up for a stock photo site as a designer, then fill in the info to get a quote. That will give a ball park for what to charge. Try alamy

Maybe they'll put plain text (cheaper!!!!) on the back, and leave your photo unsullied by mundane typography!

I don't know what the plans for adding text are. I am just tickled pink (two challenges too late)to be asked for the use of my photo. It is kinda funny to put the fat cow on the back as if they ate all the grass up on the front.

Well I got asked to use
Haven't heard back from JD, yet. Pretty cool to just be asked, knowing that my pic might be getting passed around all over (besides me doing it). The worst part about it is, no way to link my image to me/my site, etc, except word of mouth from the business card owner. Maybe I will run into one (we are both in CO).
And the fat cow would be eating wheat. (C:
