I wanted to start a discussion on post production with regards to photojournalism.

Obviously whipping out the clone tool in Photoshop is a big fat no-no, but what about basic edits like color adjustments, curves, brightness/contrast/etc? What about selective editing like dodging and burning?

Is it just a matter of keeping the basic information intact, or are there specific guidelines that apply across the board? Is there some kind of uniform code of ethics that photojournalists are supposed to subscribe to? A photographer's Hippocratic Oath?
