Dear s5100 Friends!!..
I want to ask what accessories are available for de s5100 that are worth.
I live in uruguay and a friend of mine is going to USA, and i was hopping that i can buy some accessories (i was thinkig of UV filter, closeup).

Any help? what do yo recomend, and where to buy.
Im pretty new on this, but its an oppontunity i cant lose.

thanks to all.

An adapter tube and UV filter is worth it. Close up filters ar not worth it - you have a macro mode that works better.

a polarizer filter is most well worth it.
a TCON17 (the fuji or olympus ones ONLY) are worth it and the WCON is good too if you want more wide angle.

From what I understand the only "recognized" accessories are the add-on macro and 1.5x telephoto lenses. Then there is also the powercord you can buy to plug into the wall.

As far as I know that's it. If anyone knows of anything else. I'd love to know too. As it is the only one I hae is the plug for the outlet.

Oh yeah.... I also bought an external flash with a slave so that I can have off camera flash capabilities. Unfortunately you HAVE to use the onboard flash too. what can you do?

Once you get the adapter tube you can use any filter that fits it. Cokin also sells an adapter that mounts to the tripod screw hole and lets you use cokin A or P filters. A bit cumbersome perhaps, but the filters can be used on any later camera you get.

My 602 has a 52mm adapter tube (fuji's is 55mm and relatively expensive). I got a set of quantarray close up filters and not worth the effort as macro is better. The close up filters do OK on my Rebel.

I got the adapter mainly for using a polariser filter (a linear type will work on the fuji cameras). GREAT! Best one accessory i ever got.

So UV filter will be. Any must have filter? (the s5100 has the adapter ring to use filters).

The external flash is an interesting option.

thanks!
