I had some problems with my monitor (calibration)
Thats the differance of what I submitted and what I wanted to submit
That's my glorious Pink entry. Pretty weird look. I am surprised it scored so good! And only 3 1's! Anyway is my lowest score and seems I am going on a very descending road ;-(
This is how I saw it before calibrating my monitor and how I wanted it to look.

wow. big difference! The background is 100% better and definitely makes the bear pop more. I have never calibrated my monitor on any of my computers, and i have no excuse as to why. Laziness i guess. And not wanting to figure out how. But I think you've just convinced me i should. |

Hi, I think the calibrated version is a lot better. I voted your photograph a 5 because I was not sure if it was my monitor or yours since I just changed computers and was not sure if I had mine calibrated. If your entry would of been the 2nd I would of given it a 6. A good photograph |

I put both of these pics side by side and see no difference at all... Would it made a difference if I calibrated my monitor??? |

Provided you monitor is no too old and worn out to be calibrated properly -- as mine has become. :(
It is likely the blackpoint, which is how dark black is, is likely what is wrong. This site on monitor calibration is easy to follow and can be done quickly with a bit of practice.

Thank you so much for the information David.
I did go to the site, and I do see the differences they mention in the white and black point settings, as is the case for the gamma settings. The differences are indeed barely noticeable, but there just the same.
This leaves me with the impression that perhaps my eyesight might be failing as I am getting older.
I will experiment with the settings and see if the colours improve.
Thanks again.
