It's not bad.. It suffers most from being out of focus. I like the colors though, very pretty.

The composition is good.. the placement of the leaves in the frame create intersection diagonals in the center, which is pretty strong visually.

p.s. I'd also appreciate some comments on these photos.

It's not bad, but I agree the edges are out of focus. Is is a plant you have at home? Try reshooting it using a black card or black velvet as a background and try different light.

From the point of view of the composition they are quite good. I like the blue you choise in postproduction. But that noise - get Neat Image quick and only sharpen after you clean up. Next time use a tripod to avoid blurriness.

Galina,

That is with a tripod - I have horrible problems with my HP on resolving high contrast areas on pictures, especially if I don't reduce the image at all. In "Angel of the Moon", I chose not to get rid of the noise on purpose because I felt that it added a certain "texture" to the sky. Also, it reminded me of the pointillism style of painting and thought it was neat that I could achieve that effect just by exploiting the limitations of my camera.

Thanks for your comments tho! I suppose I should have prefaced my request saying that they are more intended as digital art more than pure photography.

I'm new here, so take this is you will :).

There is something about "Church in Red" that really draws me to the photo, but the darkness of it turns be away (perhaps it's my monitor setting).

It almost reminds me of something out of a gothic novel. I expect to see a shadow lurching behind one of the windows.

"Angel of the Moon" is a great concept and something I've tried (unsuccessfully) to do over the years. Unfortunately, it's rather out of focus...something I find highly disctracting.

I love your sense of color and composition, though! I've enjoyed looking at your photos.
