That'[s certainly a remarkabgle variation, with the cropping and the hue shifts. I find it distinctly odd that the light facing us halows and the one's facing away from us don't even seem to be lit, no glow whatsoever, strange. It seems liek in the second image you've given up more than you have to in the shadows under the buildings at the waterline.
Very nice work anyway, having some fun eh?
Robt.

I think the processing is good, and agree with Robt about the shadows.
I like the improvement via the composition you chose. I'm torn however, in that while it feels well balanced, I find that the sign is very distracting, and holding my hand over that side of the photo, I think the key building holds it's own without it.

Do you have neat image? I would run it through that with maybe some heavier noise reduction, which will give you kind of a haze around the edges. Kind of like the "Down the Road" picture in my portfolio. I love Neat Image, and it's not just for reducing noise, but adds some neat effects if you run it through more than once on certain pictures...and This would be neat. Could try it and make a copy so if you don't like it at least you have the one you liked.
Anyway, just my rambling opinion

Weird, but I really prefered the original version.
The edited is wonderful. I think you did a great job on that one, but the original has this feeling.... I don't know how to explain that in English but it has a science-fiction kinda feel in it.
I commented on both. I'm sorry my language is not reach enough to explain what I really mean...
And I always thought I knew english well... :-/
