...is that when I've gotten images validated, the score goes up. Not a lot, but noticeably, which has happened on both images I've gotten DQ requests for. Kind of an interesting peep into people's psychology, no? I wonder how many people saw either of my pics that eventually got DQ recommendations and thought they were fishy before someone actually recommended a DQ.

If you think your images may be interpreted this way request that they be validated as soon as you post them.

Ok, I'll give you a "10" if it doesn't mean anything :P

...or sooner. Sometimes it can take a few days for validation, by which time several hundred people have voted. As someone who frequently enters shots that look like DQ material, I have certainly noticed the difference in scores after validation. If in doubt, you can try emailing the SC even before the voting starts.

I suppose that's a good idea, but of course, I know exactly how I took the picture and know that it's legit, so it can be tough to guess how someone else might look at it.

Good tip- I suppose that for the people who question a picture's validity but don't recommend a DQ, there's a strong likelihood that they will vote lower than they might otherwise.

I usually find that all my scores tend to rise over the voting week, with a more dramatice increase at the weekend..... so the your observation about post validation increases may also be influenced by this general voting trend.
