Does anyone have experience with plaque mounting?

From what I can gather, anything printed by an Epson that uses UltraChrome inks, which are pigment based, is fine. Actually, I have a couple that are being done that way right now.

Can prints from the Canon i9900, with its' dye based inks, be sucessfully plaque mounted as well? I'm considering buying this printer and that would be a consideration.
