Id like to see some more challenging thematics for some challenges (once in a while), to refrain from always having the same kind of pictures taken.

There was the MacroX challenge where it said (no insects) which was interesting. Something similar more often would be interesting to me.

(note that those are only exemples):

Challenge: Travel Guide - No Landscapes.
Challenge: Nude - Male model only.
Challenge: Three - No litterate numbers.
Challenge: Speed - No Transportation vehicules.

THe idea behind this is to force photographers to a little. Get away from the obvious... there is always the challenge where about 40% of the photographers shoot the same thing...

Just a though.

The only problem being that in the Macro without bugs & flowers challenge, everybody simply moved on to the next most common subject. In this case water drops.

If you try to force most people out of their box they'll simply move their box somewhere else : )

I think bod has made a good point. You can't force creativity, it has to come from within. And the main focus of the site is to enable people to become better photographers, not to teach them how to think independently.

Perhaps we could educate the voters to reward creative efforts more than they do now, but with the constant flow of new users it may be nearly impossible. Efforts so far to illuminate the differences between quality photography and digital art haven't succeeded.
