Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their comments & votes.
Quite a respectable 46th placing concidering it doesn't exactly jump out at you, can't understand the 4 people who gave it a 2 though, ah well.
My question is, as Marbo points out, the green fringing!
I know it is some sort of chromatic aberration or such.Anyone have tips on avoiding this or curing it?
Paul.

I believe that fringing can be caused by over sharpening the image.

Liked this image, I'd given you a 7.

The fringing I see is usually in images with similar setups. That is, a reletively dark forground object (nearly too dark) against a blown out or nearly so light background object. I don't recall every seeing fringing on a properly exposed image -- which is difficult to impossible with this shots of this sort.

As far as fixing it, selective color will likely help, but it may require fine control with the healing brush and such.

The haloing caused by oversharpening can be annoying, but it is not the same as the fringing that comes out of the camera.

Thanks David, Jamie,
I experimented with a few shots to get the exposure histogram more or less correct, the fringing is on the original Jamie although I sharpened it a tad and probably enhanced it some.
I agree David about the high contrast between dark and light, a very difficult situation to get right.
Thanks for the feedback..and your 7 Jamie.
Paul.
