Hey Steve,

We usually try tyo avoid revealing our challenge entries while voting is still in progress, so I've gone ahead and edited your post.

Sorry your first entry didn't work out too well for you. Welcome to the continuous learning experience that is DPC. ;-)

I must report a traitor(s) among us some one is voting the entries up. Mine for the first time has gone upwards, So is this a cunning plot from other contestants to win at all costs.?!!!!!

Mind it hasnt risen much and I aint complaining so I might still be in the running

One of my favourite ever brown contenders here had another element besides the five mentioned: the 'photographers comments' section referred to a completely different photo than the actual submission. The clincher was, that that other photo didn't fit the challenge either. Utter genius.

Dude, write a tutorial. You forgot to mention plasticy toys as photography matter, otherwise this was a great read.

i am delighted to see this again.
I am especially envious of your score of -1 to go with those "0" scores.
It really puts the frosting on the cake of that respectable string of browns.

Has anyone else ever achieved that distinction of coming in 124th out of 123??

Whiterook definitely has finished worse-than-last more than once...

R.

In a FS in 2007 he finished 617th out of 616, which has to be one of the highest (?) worst-than last placements ever. He got 478/477 once in 2008. I know there are more.

After rollover tonight I should have 23 Browns, including one finish of 208/207 ... I think that happens when a non-ribboning photo is DQ'd after the voting is completed; the number of entries is reduced but the placements are not ....

I may win my first ever Brown ribbon in the Negative Space challenge. Just a feeling.

With a negative outlook like that you may be right ... I'm entering that one, so your odds are even better ... ;-)

One advantage of entering the smaller challenges is that, even if you win the Brown, you can still finish in the Top-100.

IMO, that's a cop-out. To win a legit brown, the photo should meet the challenge.

... my masterpiece brown, I'm so proud!

Bah, my Work photo only got Tan (next-to-last), but I found some more low finishes, including 76/75, 147/146, and 152/151.

Here's a curious factoid: closest I have been to a Brown with an on-topic submission is this one, in "Transparency III" — And IT finished 151 out of 151, but the danged GeneralE got 152 out of 151 and edged me out :-(

They surely do. We should propose a challenge: "Rearview" — Make an image where a rearview mirror of your vehicle, as seen from the passenger's perspective, is a major player in the composition.
