I'll be on a family vacation in southern New Mexico from roughly March 19 to 26 and am looking to do some serious photography while there (of course), but also some astronomical observing. Because of family vacation priorities, I won't get to book a few nights at New Mexico Skies (a killer astronomy resort) or anything so elaborate, but I'm wondering if there are any NewMex amateurs who might be willing to team up with me for an evening or two for some observing. I'll be bringing my cameras and tripod but won't be able to bring a scope (unless I can pack my short-tube 80mm Celestron in the suitcase).

We're tentatively planning to fly into El Paso and visit Las Cruces, White Sands, Carlsbad, Roswell, etc. I'll probably make time (alone or with the family) to go to Cloudcroft/Sunspot to visit Apache and the National Solar Obs. I'd also like to visit the VLA again to do some photography and sightseeing.

Any other ideas or personal contacts welcome. Send me a PM or reply to this message.

TIA
