I went to a Digital SLR workshop at Elm Studio on Friday. It was an all day course that covered all kinds of things - from what kind of flashcards to use to using a histogram to Photoshop adjustments, etc.

The workshop is given in Jeff Morgan's home in Afton. Our workshop started at 8:30am and we left at 6:00pm but only because the other gentleman and I both needed to be somewhere...Jeff would have gladly continued to talk or answer questions after that. There were only three of us in the workshop, his limit is three or four which keeps it nice and small and makes it easy to answer questions. We stopped for a break every few hours and he provided us with pastries and cookies at snack time and homemade roast beef on fresh baked bread for lunch with a warm berry pastry and ice cream for dessert.

I really had a good time at the workshop. Some of the things were a bit basic for me but a lot of it was new information. It was very open and I felt very comfortable asking all kinds of questions which he gladly answered. He's a very friendly and interesting guy (with a fun English accent!) And he had all kinds of toys that I now "need." In addition to this workshop, he does individual coaching or training on really anything you ask for.

If you're in the area and looking to learn, I'd suggest checking him out!
