| what is the big deal to gmail. yes it currently has a larger capacity than yahoo, msn, etc. but why would you want your emails electronically scanned and categorized so a company can tailor ads for you... and do who knows what else with the data? |

umm...its not like msn, yahoo, and others dont scan your e-mails, how do you think spam blockers work? its not like someone from google is physically reading your mail.
I see what your saying though, however, any sense of privacy on the internet nowadays is a false one.

my understanding of spam blockers is they are based upon key words in the subject line (hence all the funny cialis spellings), numbers of subscribers reporting addresses as junk and spammers, numbers of bad addresses that emails are sent to (creating bouncebacks) - indicating random lists, and just overall size of mailings.
To the best of my knowledge, yahoo, msn, etc are not reading content and certainly not tracking it - or at least they arent fessing up to it. |

thinking of it now, your probably right...
but if gmail turns out like any other free e-mail services of mine, it will just end up being an overglorified spam recipient server :)
...A GB of spam...what more could i ask for?
